Sir Cliff Richard Album Review:Bold as Brass
There is nothing reality about this album. The songs are very well written and Richard has been recording for about half a century - yet it does work.
In album Bold as Brass singer Richard takes a step back to the jazz/swing era and he proves he can still hold his own against the younger generation of Jamie Callum wannabes.
Cliff Richard classic such as I've Got You Under My Skin and Accentuate the Positive reflects his strong voice which is perfectly suited to this genre, injecting an uncommon level of energy.
Backed by a range of instruments, including the brass section alluded to in the title, Richard can croon with the best of them.
Highlights include a sassy version of Lazy River and surprisingly saucy I Just Want to Make Love to You.
Peter Pan meets lounge lizard is an effective combination.
