Sir Cliff Richard has support to a new North East cancer charity - all the way from his luxury Caribbean villa.

His message reads: “To Daft As A Brush Cancer Patient Care, good luck, Cliff Richard”.

She said: “I went out to Barbados with some friends who I’ve known for about 14 years now. On one of the evenings we were socialising and I met a man who said he knew Sir Cliff.

People don’t normally talk about charity when they go on holiday, but I started to tell him about Daft As A Brush because it’s such an amazing concept.

When I went home, I started wondering if he would be able to get a signed photo of Sir Cliff for the charity. I asked one of my friends about it and she said it would be OK to ask him.

And then he presented me with this picture and I just couldn’t believe it. I was absolutely blown away.

I couldn’t wait to get back and show Brian.”
